The Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council (CFWWC), US Army Corps of Engineers, US Forest Service Cottage Grove Ranger District, Native Plant Society of Oregon, Walama Restoration Project and Kennedy Alternative High School, welcomes the community to discover spring wildflowers in bloom. With a local expert as your guide, we invite you to explore a rare, remnant prairie and oak habitat along Dorena Lake. Bikes to Blooms is a free, educational event that features activities for families and nature enthusiasts, including a morning bird walk, stewardship opportunities, educational booths hosted by local organizations and guided wildflower walks. Travel southeast of Cottage Grove and experience this ecologically valuable and scenic landscape and to see the southern Willamette Valley in bloom. Bikes to Blooms will take place on Saturday, May 12th from 8am to 3pm at Bake Stewart Park along Dorena Lake. The event is free and open to the public. Bikes to Blooms event schedule: 8:00am Bird Walk, 10:30am Wildflower Walk, 1:00pm Pollinator Walk. Naturalists are available to lead additional walks. Booths will be open from 9am-3pm. All walks are accessible by car or bike, carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited. Participants should bring a picnic lunch, water, weather-appropriate clothing, weed-free shoes, and a helmet if cycling. Please leave dogs at home.
