SUMMARY:Science on Tap: Lamprey Research in the Upper Willamette
DESCRIPTION:"Lamprey Research in the Upper Willamette" will be the focus of the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council's March Science on Tap. There are forty-four species of Lamprey worldwide\, ten of which are native to Oregon. Emma Garner\, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) Salmon and Trout Enhancement Program Biologist\, will discuss the biology of each species and highlight an ODFW research project targeting Pacific Lamprey and their migration above and below Leaburg Dam. Emma Garner has been with ODFW since 2011. In 2018\, Emma made the jump from research to management and moved to Springfield where she works as the district Salmon and Trout Enhancement Biologist. Emma's focus at work is bringing together local communities and our natural resources through citizen science and outreach opportunities.
